Year End Dhamma Programme at Mahamevnawa International Meditation Centre

On the 31st of December 2014, hundreds of devotees attended the Dhamma programme held in Pitsea in Essex, under the guidance of the resident Bhikkhus of the Mahamevnawa International Meditation Centre. The programme commenced at 6:00 pm and continued right throughout the night into the early hours of the following day. The attendees observed the Aâjeeva Atťamaka Precepts at the outset of the programme and offered various pôoja items to Lord Buddha as well as the Noble Arāhat, Maha Kasŝapa. Afterwards, a beautiful veneration of the Blessed One as well as Arāhat Maha Kasŝapa was done under the direction of the Venerable Bhikkhus. Following that, the devotees had the chance to listen to a Dhamma discourse based on the Maha Sathi Paťtâna Sutta. Thereafter, they had the magnificent opportunity to chant the Maha Sathi Paťtâna Sutta in full. Chanting of various other Sutta in Sinhalese and Pali was done during the course of the programme as well. Furthermore, the devotees had the opportunity to view videos and venerate the important Buddhist pilgrim sites in India. The Dhamma programme concluded with the offering of kîrî pîndu Buddha pôoja in the morning.

May everyone share the merits gained by these great deeds with joyous minds! May everyone be happy! May everyone attain the bliss of Nibbana!
